Jules Augustin Bon was the author of at least one projectile patent and a lieutenant colonel in the French "Twelfth Regiment of Artillery".

He is credited with actualizing the flechette, a.k.a. the balle Bon described in Ader, 1908, L'Aviation militaire.[1]
