The Aerial Reporter was a serial publication in 1852 launched by editor and aeronautical author Rufus Porter who later went on to found Scientific American. Our information about it comes from the 5 Maryland Center for History and Culture.[1] The describe the first issue thus:
The first two pages of the first issue of Rufus Porter's semi-monthly newsletter "Aerial Reporter." The front page of the publication provides a progress report on "the construction of the aeroport, or flying ship," including a list of project receipts and expenditures. The second page includes "a brief description of the Aerial Steamer, or Aeroport, invented by Rufus Porter, Washington, D. C."
