Australian Official Journal of Patents

The Australian Official Journal of Patents started with the modern incarnation of the Australian Patent Office, beginning with the patents issued in 1904. (There was also, starting in 1906, an Australian Official Journal of Trademarks which it seems later merged with the journal of patents.) It issued weekly numbers and an annual index.
The annual index of patents included a subject matter index which classified aircraft as Atmospheric Machines, subdividing this category into:
- Balloons and Aerostats;
- Flying Machines, Aeroplanes, Kites, &c; and
- Special Motors for Flying Machines;
as well as two other categories of "Atmospheric Machines that are not aircraft:
- Windmills, Wheels, Rudders, Towers, Gear, &c; and
- Ventilation
Availability:
- An incomplete collection of some volumes of weeklies and some indexes is available from HathiTrust.
- The Library of Congress and New York Public Library — see Worldcat — but these might all be more recent than what we're looking for.
