Refers to voyage of John Jeffries (not mentioning co-pilot Jean-Pierre Blanchard) from England to France. Franklin says he has sent Bowdoin Jeffries' account of the voyage. Franklin writes that Jeffries brought him a letter in France—the first air mail, he asserts.
