This letter is from engineer Paul Haenlein, to Hermann Moedebeck, near the end of their long correspondence. The Lilienthal museum shares a transcription, in German. We don't see the original, which was handwritten. Below is a translation of the transcription by Deepl, with slight simplifications by user:econterms:

Dear Major! I was very ill; I have been in hospital for four weeks; I am feeling better now, but I will have to stay here for a few more weeks. The brochure has already been published; I do not have my letters here, but I remember your request [Motor Holtarf] to have it mentioned in them, otherwise I would certainly have complied with your request. It is too late for this edition; if a second edition is published, we can discuss it then.

With kind regards and high esteem,

Paul Haenlein
