Although it does not cite Patent DE-1908-08-22-Rettig-Koenen, it seems to be replacing it de facto as the parent of Rettig and Koenen's foreign patents. It seems likely that the August patent was rejected and this December one was filed to replace it. For now, we keep "first filing=1" and yet we cite the August precessor as a parent below.
