Picardie
Picardie was a région française, formed 2 June 1960, grouping départements Aisne and Oise and Somme, of which the chef-lieu was Amiens. In the ordering process of 2015 territorial reforms, Picardie, as an officially administrative région française was fused with that of Nord-Pas-de-Calais, 1 January 2016, forming that of Hauts-de-France.[1]
The top map on this page and the Wikidata below both pertain to Picardy in the above-described capacity. Though there are some blurs in terms of usage, data linking to this page generally corresponds with that of the area covered by the above.
Former province Picardie also existed within Territoires du royaume de France. The system of départements came after this, of course.
Cultural and historic Picardie also extending into Belgium, dovetailing geographically therefore also with data on various Belgian locations. Indeed Wallonie picarde is another name for Hainaut occidental.
