Brussels-Capital Region in Belgium and Europe.svg

Région de Bruxelles-Capitale, as such, was created in 1995, as a result of the division of Province de Brabant into the province du Brabant wallon, in the région wallonne, and the province du Brabant flamand, in the région flamande, and the autonomous région Bruxelles-Capitale.[1] Brussels, for instance, will be designated within antique data as within the Province de Brabant. This all has to do with the historically francophone elitist aspect of Belgian administration and political culture, with Brussels and its very immediate surroundings being bilingual, or even francophone-leaning, though, as such, existing as an enclave within the largely Dutch-speaking région flamande.
