Rexford M. Smith was an American aero inventor and patent agent.

We have him filing patents under his own name from Washington, DC, and assigning rights, via mesne assignment, to the Connecticut Aircraft Company.[1]

A substantial biography is at the excellent Early Aviators site: https://www.earlyaviators.com/esmithrx.htm. There we see his birth date.

The College Park museum identifies him as a founder of a company: https://www.mncppc.org/Search?searchPhrase=Rexford

His office address was at 615 F Street NW, and his home address was 1213 M Street NW. The 1904 Boyd's Directory lists him in bold as a patent professional, thus: "SMITH REXFORD M, patents, 615 F nw, h 1213 M nw".[2]

We have him appearing among witnesses, to a patent, as "Rex Smith" so we'll treat that as a standard alt spelling.[3] It was a manner in which he was casually known, and the spelling factors into publications.

This person had 3 publications and 7 patents in this database.
