Wilhelm Höltring was an aero inventor in the Rhineland. On his British patent he gave his occupation as Manufacturer, and his location as Radevormwald, Rhenish Prussia, Germany.

(Rhenish Prussia was a standard term for the area now called the Rhineland, the industrial region in the west of Germany.[1] Radevormwald is a known town.[2])

In 1899 Höltring had filed a patent for a "Turbine for gaseous propellants", shown here: From DPMA site, transcribed at DPMA site. There doesn't appear to be a stated application in aeronautics, although that's conceivable.

In Jan 1910 he must have filed for an aero patent in Germany, presumably similar to the later Austrian one, and he wrote foreign patents as if that were the parent, but it seems not to have been granted or we would have been able to find it somewhere. De facto the Austrian one is therefore parent of the British and French ones; he thus had one aero invention as best we can count so far.

I'm inclined to create a ghost patent page for the German one, marking it as not-granted for now.
