This British patent firm Abel & Imray was founded in 1871 by Charles Denton Abel and John Imray. Oliver Imray was also part of the firm. Abel, in particular, played a crucial role relative to organizations and study pertinent to 'The Patent Laws'. We have the firm located at Birkbeck Bank Chambers, London, W.C.[1] We also have this as “Bank Chambers, Southampton Buildings, London, W.C.”.[2]

We have the individual Chartered Patent Agent Arthur George Bloxam acting as an applicant, processing a patent-filing communication from abroad, opening the patent document, with this firm, at simply Bank Chambers, 29, Southampton Buildings, London, W.C., as the patent agents noted at the end of the document.[3]

The firm had offices in the Holborn area of London, a firm which still operates under that name today.

Abel was an aero inventor himself as well as a patent attorney.
